The Ideas Vending Machine was selected by French curator, Guy Tortosa, for the EV+A exhibition in 1996. The vending machine contained boxes filled with assorted objects, texts, photographs and drawings, including pages from old diaries, and telephone cards with instructions to ring people. The public were allowed to remove the contents of the boxes, in exchange for an idea of their own. The vending machine was situated in various locations around Limerick city, including fast food outlets, streets, galleries, offices, supermarkets and colleges.
