Augustine O’Donoghue (along with Andi McGarry) is a founder member and co-director of Wexford Documentary Film Festival (WDFF). Established in 2009, WDFF is a non-profit film festival which takes place each year in the fishing village of Kilmore Quay, County Wexford. The festival involves screenings of local, national and international films, with a thematic focus on social, political and environmental issues, including films that relate to marine life and coastal communities. The festival hosts filmmakers from all over the world, bringing locals and visitors together in the unique and intimate village setting. The festival places an important emphasis on post-screening discussions between filmmakers, local organisations, politicians, activists and audiences, while also promoting filmmaking in the region with a series of workshops and masterclasses. The festival has grown in scale and ambition over the years and is now organised with a festival team made up of artists.
